Good point, this is very true and I should remind myself of this with my obsessive weighing!

When I was in HS and wanted to lose weight (which 1 - I didn't need to do and 2 - I went about all wrong), I weighed myself constantly. I didn't ever take into consideration the various factors - like having enough calories to participate in sports, gaining muscle weight, etc. I would skip meals just to see the numbers change.
I'm convinced that those unhealthy habits are common in others and have probably influenced my health in long-term ways. But I've lived without a scale for years now (I can't remember the last time I had one) and I love it. I still am aware of my "weight" from how my clothes fit, how I feel about my body naked, etc. But I'm no longer obssessed with an artificial number!
